課程概述 |
As one of the foundation courses of DFLL, this course focuses on sentence and paragraph writing. It introduces the basic ideas of prewriting, paragraph writing, revising, annotating, outlining, summarizing, and reacting. Students are encouraged to apply these ideas in the writing of three pieces of composition (following the writing patterns of narration, description, and exemplification), three assignments (practices in summary and reaction), and three pieces of peer revision. Most of the course time will be spent in examining sample paragraphs/essays, stimulating ideas for writing, and exploring revisionary possibilities. Study of sample paragraphs/essays and students writing will focus heavily on the language and organization. The student is also required to submit a grammar journal at the end of the semester, which records his/her own efforts of polishing his/her English writing. |
